Who Do I Have to Thank?

Who do I have to thank for this newfound spirit?
Unearthed me from the grave, reminded me to do it
I camped right at the base but never topped the mountain
Imagined but never drank from the holy fountain

Guess that I got over the fear that ‘living’ is never short
Instead of a lonely coffin, I should’ve constructed a fort
If this is due to some god’s caprice, I’ll turn over my atheism card
Uphill remains the journey so I made peace that it is hard

Unfiltered fiction, honest poetry, and things that scratch at the door. Directly to your inbox.
